Eyeliner: For best results
1. It is a good idea to have a firm idea of thickness, shape, style and color prior to permanent application. Shade choices include black-brown, charcoal and black. If you purchased a coupon, a "natural" eyeliner is included. Medium or thick liner is available for an additional charge. I do not offer pigmentation implant in the pink wet area closest to the eye.
2. An electric pen style machine is used for implantation of the iron oxide based pigments. This machine is the best for achieving longevity and precision. However, the vibration can be a bit unnerving. I will also be stretching the skin around the eyes area to get out even the tiniest amount of creping. If you wish you may take something for relaxation prior to your procedure. If your nerves are on edge, sensitivity to your nerve endings can be heightened causing an impact on the effectiveness of the topical we use. I do not recommend taking vitamins, caffeine, narcotics or Xanax type drugs as we have found that these hypersensitive the nerves as they wear down. This can keep you from being able to get numb.
3. I use 5% lidocaine. Most client are perfectly fine with this. If you feel you need extra pain precaution feel free to take something for pain at the beginning of your appointment such as ibuprofen or Tylenol.
4. It is common to have swelling and/or bruising for 1 to 3 days following your procedure. This can be slight to extreme and on rare occasions can last up to a week. Taking Arnica, 6c or 9c, (in pill form from a health food store) , prior to your appointment (follow their instructions for best results), Benedryl or antidrowsy antihistamine (for watering eyes), and icing (for swelling), are all recommended to help alleviate symptoms. Start icing as soon as you get home. Immediate icing is the ticket for fastest alleviation of swelling..
5. The treated area must be kept moist with vaseline (family vaseline must have contaminants scooped out), aquaphor or A and D ointment (NO OINTMENTS WITH CHEMICALS OR ANTIBIOTICS), at all times for 5 days following the procedure. To keep it moist you will need to have your topical on hand (i.e. baggie with small container of your chosen topical with q-tips in your purse) and keep it applied in a thin film at all times except when sleeping or icing. Ice 20 off and 20 on as tolerated until swelling subsides.
6. Often a touch up is needed. If a touch up is needed 6 weeks must pass between appointments. Depending on how you individually accept the pigment, a touch up may desired. A few things other than personal makeup can affect the necessity of a touch up. 1. Swelling. If you have excessive swelling the pigment cannot implant in the dermis as successfully. 2. Pain level. If you do not respond to the topical as well as you should you may experience some pain which in turn causes you to purse your eyelids. If the eyelid moves we must lift the needle. This can leave spots that later need to be touched up later. 3. Prior tattooing. Tattooing creates a thicker skin which doesn't accept pigment as readily. This is no problem as far as the end result but may require more than one application. 3. Desired richness of colour and longevity. Touch up is done within 3 months. The unstructured skin will be flooded with color at the touch up this will create a richer look and five to seven years of longevity as opposed to one or two without. Touch ups within first 3 months are 150.00$
7. Your permanent eyeliner may last 5 to 7 years. Colors will eventually fade as your indication that a redo is in order. Blacks and black browns fade and get much lighter. This fading is just the indication that you need to get a touch up.
8. Post -procedure. You will need to stay away from intense sun exposure, direct water pressure and all chemicals. Chemicals include soap, eye makeup remover and makeup. You may splash with water and pat dry. If soap or shampoo wash down over your wound during a shower, no worries. Just splash with water, pat dry and re-apply you topical when you get out.
9. Thicker lines may be purchased . If correction requires removal this is not included.
11. Please remove all lash extensions at least 3 days prior to your appointment.
12. It is common for thick moist "scabbing" to peel off. You are not losing your liner, rather the pigment and blood and lymph from healing are oozing out of the epidermus (the cloudy outer most protective layer of the skin) and mixing with the thick and sticky topical. After the peeling comes off at approximately the 5th day you are left with a softer and less intense color.
13. You will be able the drive home.
Eyebrows: For best results
1. The special brow includes a small to med brow. Large and glamour are available at an additional charge. Please come with your brows on and your skin Clean and Free of oils and lotions. It is a good idea to have a firm idea of thickness, shape, style and color prior to permanent application. You must feel comfortable as this is not a design appointment but rather the actual tattoo appointment. You do not have to be an expert at applying your brows as I will measure and make sure they look good prior to putting them on permanantly. When you give this thought you will understand that it would not be prudent to be introduced to and implanted with a brand new brow within the same appointment. Please purchase and practice with stencils, ask friends to preview and help with picking a brow you feel comfortable with and look at pictures. Design appointments are available for an additional 150.00 however if your spend some time and come with your brows applied to the best of your ability, a design appointment is usually not necessary. If you don't do your brows and are not able to come to a place where you can arrive with your brows on you will need to contact me for a design appointment. Your brows will last many years. Shade choices include various shades of brown, taupes, blondes, reds, grays and black. If you purchased a coupon the shaded brows are included. Shaded is the traditional permanent brow. It looks as though your brows have been applied with a brow pencil or soft powder and has a distinct border. I do offer and specialize in the 3D HD Ultra pricision Microblade brow, which you can see before and after photos of and read about in the menu.
2. An electric pen style machine is used to implant the "soft powdered" shaded brow. The Microblade "Hair Stroke" 3d is applied with a hand method blade. All pigments are iron oxide free.
3. I use 5% lidocaine. Most clients are perfectly fine with this. If you feel you need extra pain precaution feel free to take something for pain at the beginning of your appointment. PLEASE no caffeine or vitamins the day of your appointment as any stimulant will cause excitement of your nerves.
4. Swelling is minimal. If it bothers you feel free to ice.
5. The treated area must be kept moist at all times for 7 days following the procedure. To keep it moist you will need to have petroleum jelly on hand and keep it applied in a thin film at all times except when sleeping or icing.
6. Often a touch up is needed. If a touch up is needed 6 weeks must pass between appointments. Depending on how you individually accept the pigment a touch up may desired. A few things other than personal makeup can affect the necessity of a touch up. 1. Swelling. If you have excessive swelling the pigment cannot implant in the dermis as successfully. 2. Pain level. If you do not respond to the topical as well as you should you may experience some pain . This may not allow for the pigment to be inserted all the way into the dermis and can leave spots that later need to be touched up. 3. Prior tattooing. Tattooing creates a thicker skin which doesn't accept pigment as readily. This is no problem as far as the end result but may require more than one application. 4. Full richness of color and five to seven years of longevity as opposed to one or two without the touch up. Touch ups, within first 3 months, are 150.00.
7. Colors will eventually fade as your indication that a redo is in order.
8. Post -procedure. You will need to stay away from intense sun exposure, direct water pressure and all chemicals. Chemicals include soap, eye makeup remover and makeup. You may splash with water and pat dry.
9. Please come with your brows applied so that I know what you've been wearing (even if we change it a bit).
10. Your brow color will be much more intense, darker and a little larger for the 7 days. Just about the 7th day, a "second brow", consisting of blood and lymph (which you cannot see, because of the pigment color) and pigment that has bled into the outer layers of the skin, will "roll " off. If there is any area, even tiny, that is still adherant to the skin, do not force it off. Doing so will definately cause you to loose color and the area will rescab.
11. You will be able to drive home. Contacts must be removed for procedure but can be replaced afterward. Glasses are preferred if it is an option since the eye area will be sore.
